With impossibly high ceilings and sumptuous understated decor in royal colours and a Bling mirror tiled chandelier feature, HB Katherine oozes a quality and palatial feel that is unusual in the houseboat world. The rich timber khatamband ceilings and wall panelling add  warmth and it has a very uncluttered ambience.

A painstaking eye for detail has the rooms all color coordinated with carpet matching the crewel embroidered curtains and bedspreads then through to the tiles, shower curtain and towels in the bathroom. The bedrooms are huge and functional.

Big spacious couches and exquisite carved walnut furniture, friendly staff and wonderful service make HB Katherine a fine holiday or business accomodation option.

Located across from the Nehru Park Ghat, there is a fine view of Shankaracharya temple and the call to prayer in the early morning and evening drifts across the water lending itself to an idillic and exotic night air.

At 27 years old (2016), HB Katherine is one of the newer houseboats on the lake.
