Four poster beds, chandeliers, tapestries and a distinctly floral theme are stand outs in HB Heevan. Traditional Kashmiri paper-mache with intricate hand painted designs adorn picture frames and lamps throughout the rooms.
Originally bought in via Persian artisans, paper mache is a thriving industry in Kashmir and adorns some of the entrance and interiors of major monuments such as the Shah e Hamadan Mosque.
A simpler romantic style, the sunny passageway is draped in fine embroidered crewel curtains that billow in the gentle breezes giving HB Heevan a very summery light and bright vibe.
Outside the open windows we watched the vegetable wallah paddle passed with his fresh produce to sell to the kitchens of houseboats.
Birdlife abounds and a little blue kingfisherfrequented a post just outside our window.
