A personal favourite, HB Shoda Palace has a location that is hard to beat. Favoured by generations of European travellers, and tucked away behind the busy Dal Gate/ Nehru park area, Shoda commands pristine, uninterrupted views of Hari Parbat (Akbar's Fort) and the majestic Pir Pinjal mountain range which is snow capped most of the year.

Nanga Parbat, named after the 9th highest mountain in the world, and at the grand old age of 85 years is one of the oldest and last of the classic Heritage style houseboats.
